María del Pino, jewelry designer

Hello, I hope you enjoy visiting my celestial collection as much as I enjoyed creating it.
I have been designing and selling fine jewelry for forty years. This collection brings together what I love and know best: astronomy, gemology and working with texture. Every piece has its origin in the celestial bodies of the universe.
From the sky to the stone
I studied Astronomy at the Complutense University of Madrid and Gemology at the Instituto Gemológico Español (Spanish Gemological Institute). Astronomy gives my collections their shapes: galaxies, orbits, eclipses and the North Star. Gemology guides how I choose each stone: natural rubies, sapphires and emeralds, cut or raw. When a stone is left raw, it keeps its natural shape and the setting is made to fit it.
How a piece is born
Every piece starts with a sketch of mine. Then, in artisan workshops in Madrid, it is modeled by hand in wax, cast in 925 sterling silver, textured and polished and, if it is gold vermeil, plated with three microns of 24k gold. That's why every piece has small variations that make it unique.

My pendants, earrings, cufflinks and rings are made in 925 sterling silver and gold vermeil: three microns of 24k gold over a 925 silver base. Some pieces are made in solid 18k gold, and I always state the material on each product page.
When I design, I want pieces that are comfortable, timeless and unique. What matters most to me is that you feel at ease in them and wear them often.
Looking for something in gold?
I also make 18k gold jewelry to order, either based on a piece from the collection or with a design created especially for you. I start with a sketch and, while it is being made, I send you photos of the process so you can see your piece take shape. Write to me and we'll bring it to life.
Ramón, my son and partner
Ever since he was little, my son Ramón has shared my passion for astronomy. After four years in England he came back to Madrid, and that's when we decided to start again with jewelry, this time online. He comes from a sales background and takes care of the website and everything behind the scenes, so that every piece reaches you.
Thank you for visiting. I invite you to discover all my jewelry, create your own personalized cufflinks or read the Sky Journal, where I write about the sky and jewelry.
